Meet Nurjahan Begum, a woman who has faced unimaginable hardships in her life. Living in Bangladesh, she found herself plunged into poverty after the loss of her husband. With no means to support herself and her sister, they resorted to begging just to have a little rice to eat.
The pain doesn’t end there. Three months after her husband’s passing, her own son abandoned her. To make matters worse, her daughter-in-law accused Nurjahan of eating too much and gave her son an ultimatum: either stop feeding his mother or she would rather die.
Nurjahan’s desperate plea for food is a stark reminder of the harsh realities faced by many in our society. Join us as we delve into her heartbreaking story and shed light on the struggles of those living in poverty in Bangladesh.

The housing conditions for the Shukur family were dire. The storm’s aftermath left their home in ruins, and the lack of financial resources made rebuilding an impossible dream. Living in a makeshift shelter, the family faced the harsh elements daily. Mr. Abdus Shukur, along with his wife, resorted to begging to put food on the table, trying to provide a semblance of normalcy for their children amidst the wreckage of their life.
